SYMCC ROUND 3 REPORT

     Last Sunday, 14th June, saw Scottish Youth Motocross Club holding round 3 of the club championship at Shiplaw farm, near Peebles. Despite the terrible forecast, the day stayed dry except a few small threatening rain spots. The track in great condition, and set for a good days racing.

     The Auto's were first on track, with Scott Russell taking the days overall with 3 straight wins. Lewis Dow and Jordan Gill took 2nd and 3rd respectively.

     The 65cc class was dominated by Elaine MacEachern, closely followed by Tara McLeod, who took 2nd place in all three races. 3rd place was claimed by Lee Perfect, picking up the needed points in the third race.

     In the small wheel 85 class, Jay Lamb took the 1st race win, but a crash in the second race ended his day. Greg Queen took the other two race wins to take the overall. Reece Wilson took 2nd, and Jack Taylor finished in 3rd.

     William Lambie took two race wins to take the overall in the big wheel 85 class. Ian Stewart took the other race win, to finish 2nd. Dean Hill took 3rd place overall.

     Steven Craig looked to have the day wrapped up in the youth 125/250F class, with the 1st two race wins, but a crash in the third race resulting in a DNF put him down the points. Frazer Flockhart took the days overall leaving Hannah McLeod to take 2nd place. The last race win for David Houston just wasnt enough to make up points after a first race off, and he finished the day with 3rd overall.

     Sean McDonald was unstoppable in the Adult 125 class, with all 3 wins, taking the overall win for the day. Gordon Ramsay took the 2nd place overall, and Craig Hill picked up enough points, with a 2nd place in the third race, to take the 3rd place overall.

     The Adult Open class was won by Dale McAulay, with two race wins. Alisdair Brodie took the other race win to finish in 2nd overall. Ryan Dick took the 3rd place.

Round 4 of the club championship will be held on the 12th July 2009.
