Borders Motocross Club Round 4 Report
The last round of the Borders Motocross Club championship was held last Sunday, at the Duns Motoparc in the Scottish Borders, and the track was prepared to a very high standard. With the weather forecast looking great, it looked set for a good day. The weather never done as planned, but the rain held off and the all riders went out to battle for the needed points to tie up the championship positions.
First out, as the usual race programme, were the auto's. Jordan Gill lead the pack and took the overall with all three wins. Daniel Chisholm rode well throughout the day and took two second places, to take second overall. Lyle Crothers finished with two third places, and the third overall.
A lack of entries in the 65cc class didn't put anyone off. Elaine MacEachern showed the boys how it was done once again, with another clean sweep and the overall for the day. With two riders tied on points after the first two races, it was left to be decided in the third race. Aaron McDonald took the higher placing and finished with second overall. Ryan Archibald finished only two points behind, in third place.
In the 85SW class, Greg Queen won all three races and took the overall for the day. Jack Taylor rode consistently all day to take the second place. Jake Biggs finished in third place.
Stuart Robertson took all three race wins in the 85BW class, and took the overall for the day. Sean Williamson finished all three races in second place, to place second overall. Andrew McNicoll followed the pattern and finished in third, with three third places.
The youth 125 class was won by Harry Cooper, who took all three race wins. Scott Foote took three second places to secure the second spot. Dale Stewart followed with three third places, to take the third spot.
In the youth 250F class, Mark Perfect took full points from all races, and the days overall. Taylor Dodds and David Houston finished all three races in the same positions, and took second and third respectively.
Sean MacDonald was in a league of his own, in the adult open class, taking the overall with all three race wins. Jason Martin took two second places, to secure second overall. Shane Strachan rode consistently throughout the day, to finish with the third place.
The clubmans class proved to be interesting, with the track owner and former Scottish champion, Dave McVie coming out of the woodwork for a days racing ? he showed he hadn't lost his touch and knew how to ride the track, taking all three race wins and the days overall! Ian Harkes finished with the second place, and Ivan Williamson took the third.
